Job Summary 

The primary responsibilities of this position are to attend to Avis’s customers at the counter; arranging for the rental of an Avis car and handling the car-return transaction; obtaining and verifying customer information; producing a rental agreement and ensuring that Avis’s goal of Total Customer Satisfaction is met.

Job Duties –

  1. Attend to customers appearing at the Avis counter and arranging for the rental and car-return of vehicles in a courteous efficient manner.
  2. Respond to all customer requests for assistance (providing travel information: maps, directions, emergency road service: breakdowns, lost keys, etc.)
  3. Handle customer complaints according to company best practice.
  4. Maintain the appearance of the rental counter and presents a neat orderly appearance to our customers.
  5. Handles telephone inquiries such as rate shop, reservations, customer complaints, etc., and refers phone calls when necessary to the right parties.
  6. Responsible for fulfilling various office duties related to Avis such as voucher, coupon and cash reconciliation, rate shopping, checking on the competition status, checking gas logs, moving VTC'S, filing, customer adjustments and follow-up, another Avis related reports.
  7. Performs other duties related in efforts to enhance our customer service and provide Total Customer Satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, comprehend, write English
  • Ability to perform basic Math
  • Computer literacy required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
  • Positive interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work varied hours/days, weekends, nights, and holidays as company dictates.
  • Ability to display initiative, follow instructions and work with limited supervision.
  • Organized time management skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License for a minimum of 1 year
  • Age 23 or older
  • Customer service experience – preferred

Position Standards

  1. Develop, monitor, modify and assure compliance with the annual business plan to ensure the profitability of the company.
  2. Develop and implement location strategies to maximize profitability and revenue management opportunities including sales of optional services, revenue per unit, etc.
  3. Continue to increase the market penetration of the branch and increase revenue.
  4. Attend to customers appearing at the Avis counter and arranging for the rental and car-return of vehicles in a courteous efficient manner.
  5. Responsible for selling, obtaining, and maintaining established goals for Loss Damage Waiver, Additional Liability Insurance, Upsells, walkups and Gas Service Option.
  6. Respond to all customer requests for assistance by providing travel information (maps, directions. etc.).
  7. Responds and assist all customer requesting emergency road service (breakdowns, lost keys, etc.).
  8. Handle customer complaints according to company best practice.
  9. Maintains the appearance of the rental counter and presents a neat orderly appearance to our customers.
  10. Handle telephone and email inquiries such as rate shop, reservations, customer complaints, etc., and refers phone calls when necessary to the right parties.
  11. Responsible for fulfilling various office duties related to Avis such as voucher, coupon and cash reconciliation, rate shopping, checking on the competition status, checking gas logs, moving VTC'S, filing, customer adjustments and follow-up, another Avis related reports.
  12. Responsible for maintaining the Avis’s image of quality and professionalism this includes wearing the Avis uniform in accordance with the established uniform guidelines.
  13. Responsible for maintaining and promoting a positive working relationship with all Avis personnel.
  14. Perform a variety of WIZARD transactions (i.e., car exchanges, modifications, Wizard delay entries, etc.)
  15. Perform other duties related to those above in effort to enhance our customer service and provide Total Customer Satisfaction.

Starting Salary: KYD $11.75 per hour.
