Job Title:           Warehouse Associate

Department:   Warehouse

Reports To:      Warehouse Supervisor and/or Warehouse Senior Manager

 

 

Job Summary – The position will be responsible for accurately and efficiently handling the shipping and receiving activities following department guidelines. The position will be responsible for providing quality customer service in a safe and healthy environment. Position must also observe all department and company policies; while maintaining a neat, well-groomed personal appearance.

 

Job Duties

 

  1. Select and receive various food items to be shipped to stores.
  2. Palletize and shrink wrap food items.
  3. Operate material handling equipment necessary to transport, stack, replenish or select food items.
  4. Cross train and work in various areas of the warehouse.
  5. Follow company procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
  6. Follow all department inventory control procedures.
  7. Follow company procedures to ensure work areas are always clean.
  8. Always show interest and willingness to learn the industry.

 

Requirements

  • Ability to read, comprehend, write and speak English.
  • Ability to perform basic Math.
  • Basic computer competency preferred.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
  • Exhibit attention to detail and commitment.
  • Positive interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in largely diverse teams.
  • Ability to work varied hours/days as needs dictate, including over-night shifts.
  • Ability to lift 30, 50 and 70Ibs regularly
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work at elevated heights
  • Ability to timely multitask while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to endure hot and cold temperatures.
  • Possess a valid Group 2 or higher driver’s license and have a good driving record.
  • Previous warehouse or distribution experience a plus, but not required.


 

Job Function - Company Standards                                                      

 

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following.

 

  • 1.Greet, Offer to Assist and Thank (GOT) all customers in a prompt, courteous and friendly manner throughout the store.
  • Play an active role in the company’s commitment to care, quality, value, and service while upholding its vision, mission, and culture points.
  • “Commit to the company’s motto “BETTER BECAUSE WE CARE” and work with other associates to build a strong department team.”
  • Effectively handle customer complaints and contact manager if necessary.
  • Observe and report to shift as scheduled or assigned by Store Manager.
  • Acknowledge and follow all department, store and company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance always in accordance with company dress code.
  • Achieve the highest associate morale in the industry by working in a style that demonstrates good work ethic by being Respectful, Supportive, and Totally Team Oriented.
  • Practice the “Clean as you go” and proper sanitation procedures.
  • Ensure work area is orderly, and free from safety hazards, report hazards to management.
  • Able to properly operate, store and clean department equipment and tools.
  • Notify Management of associate theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized markdowns, unauthorized sampling, or property damage/defacement.
  • Exercise proper safety practices when lifting or moving product or using equipment.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by Department Supervisor and/or Manager.

 

 

Job Function- Position Standards

 

  1. Exercise safe food handling practices.
  2. Maintain the cooler, freezer, equipment, and work area to the sanitation standards of the company.
  3. Stock displays and keep all products rotated in accordance with company policy and product code dates and always make use of the oldest products first. FIFO (first in, first out).
  4. Fill and build displays to an appealing manner; ensure all products are priced accurately.
  5. Offer suggestive selling by recommending products and maintaining stock levels.
  6. Assist in checking and verifying department receiving’s when required.
  7. Follow company procedures for receiving, unloading, and putting away daily loads from delivery and store products in designated areas to protect product quality.
  8. Report any questionable perishable products outside of fridge to Store Management.
  9. Handle damaged and spoiled products according to company policy and assist in controlling the level of damaged goods.
  10. Monitor cooler and display area temperatures to ensure product quality, report refrigeration failure immediately.
  11. Always ensure a safe work environment throughout the store.
  12. Remove trash and clean department garbage containers in accordance with company policy.
