Job Title: Front End Supervisor
Department: Front End
Reports To: Front End Manager and/or Assistant Store Manager on duty
Job Summary – The position is responsible for assisting in the implementation of Department Manager or Assistant Store Manager's objectives by supervising and leading human resources in the assigned department. The position must assist in managing daily operations, associate development and customer satisfaction. The position must provide variety and high-quality service to maximize performance in the department while maintaining great customer service.
Job Duties
- Provide all customers with prompt, courteous and friendly service.
- Participate in training all department associates according to store policies and procedures.
- Supervise staff to meet department goals, objectives and budgets.
- Participate in associate evaluation, disciplinary and coaching processes.
- Monitor the Front End (POS, Customer Service, Western Union, and Express) for associate performance, needs and customer service.
- Provide clearance for any transactions that require approval.
- Perform administrative duties, schedule and administer breaks.
- Monitor and maintain all logs for inventory control, ordering of supplies and/or merchandise, charts, schedules, etc.
- Follow all department inventory control procedures and maintain control of products and supplies.
- Always maintain an organized and clean work area.
Requirements
- Ability to read, comprehend, write and speak English.
- Ability to perform basic Math and follow company’s CTO’s.
- Basic computer competency preferred.
- Comprehension of business basics preferred.
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
- Positive interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work varied hours/days as store or department dictates.
- Ability to display initiative, work with limited supervision and follow instructions.
- Ability to make decisions and provide direction.
- Ability to timely multitask while working in a fast pace environment.
- Ability to work with largely diverse teams.
- Ability to lift up to 35lbs and to stand for extended periods of time.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Interest and willingness to learn the Retail Industry and role of Manager.
- Successful 1-2 experience in front end and/or retail operations.

- Achieve the highest associate morale in the industry by working in a style that demonstrates good work ethic by being Respectful, Supportive, and Totally Team Oriented.
- Practice the “Clean as you go” and proper sanitation procedures.
- Ensure sales and work area are swept and mopped clean, orderly, and free from safety hazards, report hazards to management.
- Able to properly operate, store and clean department equipment and tools.
- Notify Management of associate theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized markdowns, unauthorized sampling, or property damage/defacement.
- Exercise proper safety practices when lifting or moving product or using equipment.
- Perform any other duties assigned by Department Supervisor and/or Manager.
Job Function -Position Standard
- Assist in maintaining department’s goals and standards in cooperation with department manager and store manager, (such as gross profit, presentation, etc.).
- Assist in maintaining accurate records (receiving logs, invoices, inventory, etc.) in a timely manner. Respond timely to all location mail and email reports and records.
- Participate actively in controlling shrink (such as cash handling, pick-ups, over/short, security, shoplifting, short-ringing, product handling, returns, damage control etc.).
- Consistently demonstrate good judgment and the ability to maintain composure and professionalism in stressful situations.
- Communicate needs and challenges to the Department Manager to optimize the performance of the department.
- Conduct team building by training and developing associates in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Delegate and use initiative, ingenuity, and good judgment to act on opportunities and solve challenges.
- Ensure all new department associates receive proper introduction by reviewing job descriptions, goals, training manual, and objectives.
- Ensure fair and consistent treatment in administering discipline and warnings (verbal and written) by reporting any sub-standard performance or misconduct to store management and/or department manager within a timely manner to promote high associate morale.
- Ensure fair and consistent treatment in administering recognition and praise (verbal and written) by reporting any excellence in performance to your Department Manager and Department Sr. Manager.
- Ensure associates are updated on all products and any other codes.
- Enforce company policies, including but not limited to, purchase policy, proper register operations, voids, and check acceptance.
- Issue cash to registers and remove excess cash.
- Ensure proper bagging procedures are practiced.
- Monitor lines to reduce customer delay.
- Ensure put back items are handled in a prompt and orderly manner.
- Bring to the Manager’s attention complaints concerning food quality and service.
