Job Title: Front End Associate
Department: Front End/Online Ordering
Reports To: Front End Supervisor and/or Front-End Manager
Job Summary – The position will be responsible for in-store activities within the Department, including providing assistance to the Department Supervisor and/or Manager by maintaining, preparing and proper presentation of the POS. The position will be responsible for providing quality customer service in a safe and healthy environment. Position must also observe all store and company policies; while maintaining a neat, well-groomed personal appearance.
Job Duties
- Provide all customers with prompt, courteous and friendly service.
- Have basic knowledge of products available, including seasonal products to promote sales.
- Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions and maintain proper cash accountabilities at POS registers.
- Operate POS to itemize and total customer’s purchases.
- Handle groceries with extreme care and have competency in all aspects of bagging.
- Follow all department inventory control procedures.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area, clean scanner, belt and registers regularly.
- Always show interest and willingness to learn the industry.
Requirements
- Ability to read, comprehend, write and speak English.
- Ability to perform basic Math.
- Basic computer competency preferred.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.

Job Function- Company Standards - The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:
- Greet, Offer to Assist and Thank (GOT) all customers in a prompt, courteous and friendly manner anywhere in the store.
- Effectively handle customer complaints and contact supervisor or manager if necessary.

- Observe and report to shift as scheduled or assigned by Department Manager.
- Acknowledge and follow all department, store and company policies and procedures.

- Ensure sales and work area are swept and mopped clean, orderly, and free from safety hazards, report hazards to management.
- Able to operate, clean and properly store department equipment and tools.
- Notify Management of associate theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized markdowns, unauthorized sampling, or property damage/defacement.
- Exercise proper safety practices when lifting or moving product or using equipment.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Department Supervisor and/or Manager.
- Play an active role in the company’s commitment to care, quality, value and service while upholding its vision, mission and culture points.
Job Function- Position Standards
- Collect cash, gift cards, or other forms of payment from customer and tender accurate change in accordance to store policy and procedures.
- Perform ID checks when accepting credit cards or debit cards.
- Weigh items sold by weight in order to determine prices.
- Issue receipts, credits or accurate change due to customers.
- Handle product with extreme care, separate like items.
- Handle damaged or spoiled products and return-to-stock according to Front End or store procedures.
- Offer purchase of shopping bags and bag all goods.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area, clean belt and register regularly.
- Help maintain and keep neatly organized the product displays in front of the registers.
- Remove trash and clean department garbage containers in accordance to company policy.
Customer Service
- Assist with customer inquiries.
- Conduct express cashier services.
- Process returns/ refunds in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Process donation transactions.
- Operate store phone calls and overcome.
- Adhere to legal requirements for the sale of cigarettes.
- Conduct cell phone top up transactions.
Scanning
- Adhere to scanning policies and procedures.
- Verify arrival of labels, talkers, and pricing reports from data entry.
- Verify that each new and existing item has the proper attributes programmed for each department.
- Hang all shelf labels and signs in accordance to the Scanning Coordinator.
- Assist in mark down procedures of damaged and discounted items and distribute discontinued sheet and upcoming specials to appropriate personnel.
- Provide a list of slow movement items to department manager for their evaluation.
Western Union
- Change and update transaction rates for every country in bulletin board
- Process transactions with due diligence for the high CIMA’s list of Sanctioned Countries, FATF list of Jurisdictions with Strategic Deficiencies.
- Ensure they collect the corresponding documents needed by a customer for all transaction.
- Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions and maintain proper cash accountabilities at Western Union POS registers.
- Complete, and log all Western Union reports
- Balance, Deposit slips, Write up deposit bags
- Report any overages or shortages to supervisors and/or manager

Ensure that all supplies and devised used at Western Union are in order and ready for use.
